Day 4 Careers Week

The past 3 days have been about using our hands to complete the different tasks our colleagues do on a daily basis - our everyday heroes. Today, it is all about testing our knowledge......FAQs on Careers Week, Stay Real and IQ. The competitive spirit certainly has not slowed down despite this being the 4th day into our Careers Week. In fact, team are putting in all efforts to ensure they win.....go go Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie.....

Day 3 Careers Week

The service challenge today was onion peeling - who can peel the most number of onions within 3 minutes, wins. The F&B team came with a big contingent of supporters and were very boisterous in their show of support for their representatives. All in all, it was a good fight to the end with plenty of tears flowing at the end of the 3 minutes.

Needless to say, the chefs were happy to see so many onions peeled (heard some of them asking if lots more onion peeling contests can be done in future!!!). Rest assured, the onions will be put to good use - it's going in the pot of curry chicken for tomorrow's lunch.

Day 2 Careers Week

Day 2 of Careers Week - the morning started with everyone eagerly waiting for the 'Tuesday Morning Quiz' - questionnaires were all about Careers Week. Winners will win themselves cash prizes and if they upload their resumes on http://www.ihg.jobs/, stand to win additional cash.

Competition was intense this afternoon. Those who did not win yesterday were eager to do better today in the Bed Making Service Race challenge. Their tasks - make a bed according to standard, all within 5 minutes. Prior to the race the General Manager, Anil Pathak asked the reason and purpose for the Service Race .......the answers were loud and confident............'because it's Careers Week'..'so we can multi skill'...'so we can understand what our colleagues are doing and widen our job options'.....unfortunately, there was no prize money for their right answers.

Enjoy some of the moments below. Certainly a lot of strategizing done by the various teams. The outcome?......we know now who can assist to make beds when Housekeeping needs extra pair of hands or when a bed needs to be made during night shift....

Day 1 Careers Week

Day 1 of Careers Week - many activities have been planned for the whole week. In the morning, senior leaders were encouraged to upload their resumes on www.ihg.jobs. By 3.30pm, Casamarie Cafeteria was already crowded with participants and supporters ready to take on the challenge of preparing sales kits. The rules: most number of perfectly arranged kits within 4 minutes. Everyone was there......... GM Anil Pathak was seen encouraging and cheering on the teams.

"I was given 2 minutes to explain how to arrange the kit - it would be interesting to see how many ready made kits I will get by today" - Shaz

The Men in Blue - "gosh I can do this, can you pass me the wedding brochure"...

The Front Office team took the challenge seriously - this must be the only time you don't see smiles on their faces; closely monitored by Sagina and Zaidi
